What We’re Reading is a new book display in our main room, created with both community and remembrance in mind. Its story begins with a group of friends who shared a book club — and the loss of a beloved member. Wanting to honor her love of reading while supporting the library she cherished, they envisioned a dedicated bookshelf featuring reader-recommended titles. Old favorites, new discoveries, fiction, nonfiction — every genre is welcome. The display is designed to introduce patrons to books they may not otherwise encounter, while celebrating the joy of sharing a good read with others.
We encourage you to discover a new favorite read — and to share one of your own with the rest of the community. If there’s a book you love, ask the staff for a recommendation card and write a brief note about why others should read it. We’ll gladly add your suggestion to the display.
In Good Company Book Club will meet on Wednesday, October 21, at 5 pm at the Warren Academy to discuss Angle of Repose by Wallace Stegner.
Wallace Stegner’s Pultizer Prize-winning novel is a story of discovery-personal, historical, and geographical. Confined to a wheelchair, retired historian Lyman Ward sets out to write his grandparents’ remarkable story, chronicling their days spent carving civilization into the surface of America’s western frontier. But his research reveals even more about his own life than he’s willing to admit. What emerges is an enthralling portrait of four generations in the life of an American family.

Fifty years from now, many people will call Warren home. They'll live in our homes and in homes not yet built. They'll walk trails and roads, enjoy green spaces and the lake, open businesses, volunteer in our organizations, raise families, serve their neighbors, and become the next stewards of this remarkable town. What do you want them to know about the Warren we love?
That's the idea behind The Warren 2076 Project: Share Your Warren Story—an invitation for every Warren resident to participate in the creation of a time capsule to be opened in 2076.
This project asks us to capture not just what Warren looked like in 2026, but what it felt like to live here—and what we hope will endure.
It's a conversation across generations. A portrait of our community. And ultimately, a gift to those who come after us—our children, grandchildren, new neighbors, and people whose names we'll never know but who will one day call Warren home.
Everyone has a story worth sharing; we all have a hope worth leaving behind.
There are three simple ways to participate. Choose one, two, or all three:
- Home = What does Warren look like? Share a photograph or story of your home or favorite place in town. Tell us what makes it special to you.
- Your Warren Story = What does Warren feel like? Share a favorite Warren story—a person, place, tradition, recipe, moment, or memory—that captures what makes this town home.
- One Dream for the Future = What do we hope Warren becomes? Share one you have for the people who will call Warren home in 2076. What do you hope they will carry forward?
Your perspective is part of Warren's story, no matter how long you’ve lived here.
